What Style My Scent does
Style My Scent helps people identify fragrance bottles, manage a fragrance collection and wishlist, keep a scent journal, receive styling suggestions, and find supported retailer offers.
Information you provide
- Account information: email address and authentication information when you create an optional cloud account.
- App updates: email address when you choose to sign up for Style My Scent app or beta updates. We use it to send the updates you requested.
- Collection content: saved fragrances, oils, lotions, mists, wishlist items, journal entries, combinations, preferences, and related notes.
- Photos: camera or library images you choose for bottle identification or a saved Collection item.
- Support messages: information you include when contacting support.
Camera and bottle identification
Camera and photo-library access is requested only when you choose a photo feature. A selected bottle photo may be sent to the secure bottle-identification service and its AI provider to identify visible label details. If a stock image is unavailable, your chosen photo may be displayed in the app. Device permission can be changed in system settings.
Local storage and cloud sync
The app is local-first. Core data can remain on your device. If you create an account and use cloud sync, supported Collection, wishlist, journal, saved-combination, and preference data is stored with Supabase so it can be restored or synchronized. Account-owned cloud records are protected by per-user access controls. Do not store sensitive personal information in free-text fields.
Website affiliate scripts
The Style My Scent website loads CJ affiliate scripts during page visits to support affiliate links and impression tracking. These scripts contact the affiliate network when the page loads, before you choose a shopping link. Questions about website tracking or your information can be sent to stylemyscentapp@gmail.com.
Deals and affiliate links
Deals may contain third-party retailer and affiliate links. When you open one, the retailer and affiliate network may receive ordinary visit and attribution information under their own policies. Style My Scent does not process retailer payments. See the Affiliate Disclosure.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Style My Scent may schedule device notifications such as a later reminder to review a scent combination. You can disable notifications in device settings.
Paid features
Paid Premium features are not currently offered for purchase. If paid features are introduced, the purchase terms and this policy will be updated as needed before those products go live. Store purchases would be processed by Apple or Google rather than by Style My Scent directly.
Service providers
Supabase provides authentication, database, storage, and backend functions. AI services may process bottle-identification requests. Retailers and affiliate networks process outbound shopping activity after you leave the app. Apple and Google may process app-store activity according to their policies.
Retention and security
Cloud account data is retained while your account is active and as reasonably needed to provide the service. When an in-app cloud-account deletion completes successfully, the authentication account and account-owned active cloud records are deleted. Limited technical, security, fraud-prevention, legal, or backup records may remain for a limited period when required by law or by provider infrastructure. Device-local copies remain under your control and are not automatically erased by cloud-account deletion. Reasonable safeguards are used, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You may use core local features without cloud sync, change camera/photo/notification permissions, edit or delete saved items, sign out, and delete your cloud account. See Delete Account.
Children
Style My Scent is not directed to children under 13. If the law where you live requires a higher minimum age or parental consent for an online service, use Style My Scent only when those requirements are met.
